No one wants to have to leave their home, but many of our brothers and sisters have had to flee war, violence and poverty for a better life in South Africa.

The current violence targeting “foreign” nationals dehumanises all parties involved, both those perpetuating the violence and those who are victimised. No one should live in fear of their neighbour or be forced to resort to looting and violence in order to survive.

Xenophobia is a complex issue, and we don't have all the answers. Many of us struggle with whether the deep violence and economic inequality in Mzansi can be used to explain these senseless attacks. But right now we need to respond immediately to the needs of those forced to flee their homes.

Can you pledge to donate food, blankets, toiletries and money to the following organisations? Please pledge your support. We'll keep you updated on the needs.
