From the beginning, amandla .mobi was run by passionate volunteers. That's why we need your help. We're looking for passionate people to volunteer in the following ways:
Become a community-based organiser
If you are part of a stokvel, sports group, local association, club or union you can help mobilise your community to join campaigns using Whatsapp 07435POWER (0743576937) or our USSD code *120*4729#. By adding amandla .mobi on Whatsapp or signing up on USSD, members of your community will receive updates on campaigns.
Become a language translator
The issues taken on by amandla .mobi cut across language barriers. We currently shares campaigns in four different languages: isiZulu, seTswana, isiXhosa and English. If you have excellent writing skills in any of Mzansi's 11 official languages, join our team of translators who help us ensure anyone, no matter what language they speak, can read about issues that affect them and take action.
Become an Amandla social media activist
Using Facebook, Twitter, Mxit, WeChat, Blogs and Youtube, you can share campaigns with your friends and followers and help build the people power we need to hold our leaders to account.
Become a fundraiser for people power
To ensure amandla .mobi is an independent, non-partisan movement, we don't accept funding from government or the private sector. Instead, we rely on donations from like minded individuals and organisations. If you can help us fundraise by organising events and introducing us to people who might want to donate, please sign up as a fundraiser.
Write about our campaigns. Are you a journalist or blogger who wants to cover our work?
Sign up and we'll let you know about campaigns we're about to launch. You'll get an opportunity to document real life stories from persons taking action for change.
Suggest a campaign
amandla .mobi mobilises for action on issues that affect people who are often excluded from popular platforms of engagement. We choose to reflect on issues of social justice on the effect they have on black women living in low socio-economic environments. If you have an issue you think we should campaign on, let us know and we'll try launch a campaign and mobilise the amandla .mobi community to stand in solidarity with you.
